How Timothy’s World Coffee Got Started

Established in 1975, the Snelgroves, Teresa and Timothy of Ontario, Canada began retailing premium roasted coffee derived from special quality coffee beans. Back in 1986, Ian and Becky Mckinon bought the company and expanded its retail operations in Canada. The expansion gave birth to the wholesale coffee division. Brewing by this time was the partnership between Keurig Coffee Roasters and Timothy’s Coffee.

The concept of single serve coffee makers and brewers catering to K cups coffee became a reality. The company was the topnotch roaster partner dealing wih single serve K cups coffee. Keurig went on to produce a line of assorted single serve brewers.

The company acquires its coffee beans and ensures freshness through a perfected art of roasting. Meaning, a chosen 5% of special quality grade of Arabica beans are sent to Timothy’s for roasting. Roasting to perfection is an art resulting to the specified color, flavor, aroma and taste pampering coffee lovers.

The technique of cupping ensues to perk up the flavor of the coffee following production of a perfect roast and ground coffee beans. The process is conducted in small quantity ground and cupped to guarantee flawlessness.

The critical stage to Timothy’s roasters is securely containing the freshness. Coffee exposed to air become stale losing its flavor and aroma. Right after roasting and grinding, the coffee is packed in a one way valve bag avoiding the loss of freshness and flavor.

The roasting of coffee beans ranks paramount to Timothy’s objectives. It treated roasting with scientific methods put into tests with each amount of coffee beans processed to perfection.

Timothy’s Coffee expanded its operation to the United States. Although currently concentrating on the market overseas and Canada, it earned a named brand coffee commemorating Obama’s visit, tagged as “Presidential No.44″.
